Bat & Cactus Flower
Bats have a special place in Sooki's heart, ever since she was the Bat Lady for the NYC Department of Health when she was just out of college. This is a nectar drinking bat, possibly a Mexican Long-tongued Bat, pollinating some cactus flowers. This painting has a nice representation of Sooki's blend of abstract flowers and realistic flowers. The original is a diptych (a painting split between two canvases), is painted in acrylic on canvas and signed ”Sooki.”
