    Birds are a fitting subject for Sooki's paintings, since she has been known as ”Birdie” to her grandchildren for over 10 years. Nicknamed ”butterbutts,” yellow-rumped warblers are a common sight from fall through spring in Topanga. The contrast between the abstract background and the realism of the bird represents one of Sooki's signature styles. The original is acrylic on canvas and signed ”Sooki.”
